Use of the cut-offs/blast gates often threaten the integrity of the collection system and can result in poor airflow – especially when the opening and closing of the gates is left to the operator. K & B Duct ’ s automatic gates can provide the solution to these problems by providing automatic opening and closing of the gates AT THE RIGHT TIME. Not only can the gates increase the efficiency of undersized
systems, they can also make it possible to use smaller systems where only intermittent use
is required and thus effectively lower initial cost and operating cost.

Air Tight Gates are also available.

Our new Air Tight gates are designed to address those situations where the customer is looking for a superior seal. They are currently available in the popular sizes- 4",6" and 8".

These gates are a cast aluminum body and can have a galvanized or SS blade. They are available in manual and automatic configurations. Both are self cleaning.

A special recess is cast into the body to hold the high density (UHMW-ulta high molecular weight) plastic seal. A foam seal behind the plastic seal serves as a resiliant spring, keeping pressure on the seal. On an automatic gate, the blade is completely removed from between the seals and the air tight seal is maintained by the seals pressing together. On the manual gate, the blade is always in contact with the seals.
